2012 is a year of uncertainty - the global economy is still faltering, the Eurozone is collapsing, the US election machine is starting, yet VCs seem to be continuing to invest in start-ups around the globe. Do they know something we don't or are they taking advantage of lower valuations in order to cover some of their losses from the recession? We have pulled together some of the leading venture capitalists from Silicon Valley to seek their views and predictions for the year ahead and amongst others will ask:

How will the economy fare in 2012?Is the Valley a bubble and will VC investment continue irrespective of the rest of the country/world?
Which industries are hottest for VCs and why?
Which industries will lose popularity this year and which will flourish?Can the infrastructure of Silicon Valley be replicated elsewhere in the world?Tech IPOs seem to be back, although not necessarily with a vengeance: will we see confidence grow?
