innovation with a twist... LAB 1.0
LAB 1.0 brings together entrepreneurs, investors and artists in a unique, innovative format.
Lab 1.0 features 2 speakers from a different backgrounds discussing a common topic in a collaborative and conversational format. We are pleased to welcome our speakers for this next event, Robert Stephens, Founder of The Geek Squad and Ben Davis, creator of the Bay Bridge Light show who will discuss "machines with empathy". Half way through the event a sealed envelope is opened revealing a unique object for the speakers to "re-imagine" and innovate. The idea is to explore the process of innovation live on stage that relates to the topic of the event. Out of the box ideas, creative perspectives and poetic inspiration are encouraged.
We host LAB 1.0 every other month featuring different topics, unique speakers and a blank canvas for innovation.
At our last event, we re-imagined the doorknob with speakers Allan Evans, CTO of Avegant and Bradley Leong, award winning videographer. The idea... use your palm print to identify you and unlock the front door. The door knob would talk to the rest of the house including other door knobs that would allow or deny access according to rights and permissions. "What, I cannot access dad's wine cellar?" You get the idea... :)
