GDPR Certification: Using certification and privacy technology to enhance GDPR compliance

Certification of specific data processing activities has been one of the lesser known aspects of GDPR, yet it has the potential to enhance many businesses' compliance with GDPR.
In this session we will:

• explore the framework for certifications set out in the GDPR
• explain why certification is important to customers and vendors
• discuss how certification can add value and create opportunities for business.

We will be joined by the chair of the Europrivacy International Board of Experts, Dr Sébastien Ziegler who will outline Europrivacy's certification scheme (including its ongoing procedure to be endorsed as a European seal under Art. 42 of the GDPR). Olivier Guillo, Founding Partner of Smart Global Governance will also provide an overview of their compliance software platform, which is designed to manage global and national regulatory requirements, whether in connection with the GDPR certification or otherwise.
