Pete Doyle BSc FCA, Partner, Nortons, CEO, NIS Global
Pete heads up the Nortons International Division and has overall responsibility for NIS Global, nortons’ international association of accounting firms. He works primarily with growing businesses that need to set up and run overseas operations, with particular focus on US technology and lifesciences sectors. His clients range from start-ups to public companies, as they expand internationally into UK, Europe, Asia, LATAM and other territories.
Pete qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in their UK Audit and Business advisory team and co-founded Nortons in 1993.
He has spent many years travelling to the USA to look after our clients there and recently set up nortons’ San Francisco office. He has also travelled the world building the NIS Global team. Pete holds a BSc in Biological Sciences from Exeter University.
Ian Bussey: Managing Director, Nortons Corporate Finance, International
Ian leads the Corporate Finance practice at NIS Global UK.
He has a very comprehensive corporate finance experience at Board level within the Technology and Healthcare sectors as General Manager, Business Development Director and General Legal Counsel.
As well as advising a number of U.S. companies on their international M&A activities, over the past 10 years Ian has also worked in-house for a number of companies – including a NYSE listed US Healthcare Company – to deliver inorganic growth through acquisition and consolidation.
Ian has been involved with all aspects of cross-border M&A transactions, from identification through the whole process of the transaction to strategic and post-acquisition implementation and integration.
Sebastian Blaschke: Director, Optegra
Sebastian is part of the team which leads the Corporate Finance practice at Optegra in Germany.
He has a very comprehensive corporate finance experience within the automotive, service and technology sectors and has been advising a number of international companies and Private Equity Funds on their M&A activities in Europe.
In addition Sebastian has a broad experience in after transaction support services in terms of implementation of management reporting, budget planning and cash management processes.

Tony Lei: Bank of America
Tony is a Director within the Rates and Currencies Origination group at Bank of America. He currently focuses on Currency and Interest Rate Risk Management Strategies.
Mr. Lei has extensive experience in providing financial risk management advice to Bank of America clientele ranging from Corporations (Domestic and Multinational), Private Banking/Wealth Management, Middle Market Banking, Corporate Debt Issuers and Financial Institution Coverage.
Previously, Mr. Lei was a member of Bank of America’s Financial Engineering Risk Management Team (FERM) with a focus on structuring assets for the Banks State and Local government clientele. Mr. Lei earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of California, Los Angeles in Mathematics/Applied Science (Economics).
Josh Duclos: International M&A Lawyer, Cooley
Joshua G. L. DuClos is an associate in Cooley's Mergers & Acquisitions practice and a member of the firm’s Business department. Josh is resident in the San Francisco office.
Josh represents both public and privately held companies, as well as their various stakeholders and advisors in strategic and often transformative transactions in the technology, internet and social media, media and entertainment, telecommunications, energy, life sciences and retail industries.
Josh has represented clients from start-ups and other high-growth companies to members of the Global Fortune 500, venture capital and private equity investors, investment banks, boards of directors, officers, employees and other corporate stakeholders and advisors in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, joint ventures, equity investments and strategic collaborations, as well as public and private offerings of equity and debt securities and bank financings.
Prior to joining Cooley, Josh practiced as an associate at both Kirkland & Ellis LLP in its San Francisco office and Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in its New York and London offices.
Lyal Avery: CEO, Playerize inc.
Lyal Avery has been an executive or founder of prominent technology companies since 1998, beginning with Cybercrowd (sold) and Sporg.com (sold to Active Group in 2004).
Lyal went on to co-found Strutta (acquired by LX Ventures in 2014) and Outcome3 Media (sold privately), before co-founding Playerize with Jeff Magnusson. Playerize, a worldwide alternative payments network, has acquired SuperRewards, DealUnited and PromoteClix since 2011 and now operates with offices in Vancouver and San Francisco.
David Wittenkamp: CFO, User Testing Inc.
David is the CFO of User Testing, located in the heart of Silicon Valley. In his career he has previously co-founded 3 high-tech startup companies, been the CFO of 2 other, and sold 3 of the companies with great outcomes for investors. He has been part of acquiring companies in the US and overseas, and have established subsidiaries in many places including the UK, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
In addition to the start-up world, David has worked for Ford, Motorola, IBM, Nokia, Ericsson, and EMC, working in jobs ranging from finance over sales and marketing to manufacturing and software development.
