We live in a world governed by our use and management of data. More and more, data security is posing a significant threat to companies - reputations and bottom lines, whether it is the headline grabbing data hack, money laundering by terrorist organizations or something as common as credit card fraud and identity theft.
More recently, the EU has determined that the manner by which US companies hold and manage data under the "safe habor" process is inconsistent with EU law, a determination that has changed the way that data must be managed by companies operating globally - not just in the EU.
During our discussion, you will hear from a panel of industry experts about:
How companies are now controlling and managing the international flow of customer and employee data and how they envision having to do so in the future; |
How financial companies are impacted by financial data transfer rules, and how crypto-currency could change everything; |
What data security means for export control rules; and |
What practical steps can be taken to reduce the risk and liability, whether from customers, employees or governments. |
