On March 16, 2017, President Trump released his administration’s first formal articulation of a budget proposal. The President proposed dramatic shifts in US trade and investment priorities that could have significant implications for US businesses operating around the world, as well as foreign businesses doing business in the US. While the President’s budget blueprint is merely a proposal and ultimately subject to approval by the US Congress, it provides some clues as to where US trade policy is headed.
Join Frank Samolis, co-chair of our International Trade Practice, to learn more about the Trump Administration’s evolving national trade agenda, the players involved in forming and implementing the President’s “America First,” “Buy American” and “Hire American” policies, and what these protectionist strategies mean to the global business environment.
Download an article co-authored by Frank for more details on how the Trump budget blueprint may impact the US stature abroad.
