Come and join us at Anchor Brewery & Distillery’s Tap Room to celebrate a Taste of Britain in the benefit of our chosen charity – Play Rugby USA.
San Francisco’s own British Celebrity Chef, David Lawrence from 1300 Fillmore, will temp your taste buds with some delicious nibbles and San Francisco’s own world famous Anchor Brewery & Distillery will host the bar for our 2012 San Francisco BritWeek finale.
David honed his skills at England’s most celebrated and honored culinarians, Albert and Michael Roux. He has cooked for politicians and royalty: Prince and Princess of Wales; Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon; and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. He moved to America in 1986 and has not looked back.
Today, “steam” is a trademark of Anchor Brewing and applies only to the singular process and taste of their flagship brand – San Francisco’s original Anchor Steam Beer, the classic of American brewing tradition since 1896.
The end of BritWeek 2012 heralds the San Francisco launch of one of the USA’s most respected sports based after-school programs. With generous support from the Olympic Club Foundation and additional funding from HSBC, the William Campbell Foundation the Cindy Basso Eaton Family, and Venable LLC, Play Rugby USA, is now able to introduce it’s programming into the San Francisco Bay Area.
Play Rugby USA is charitable organization focused entirely on helping kids from less fortunate neighborhoods develop their character, improve their conditioning, create community involvement and motivate academic commitment. Their after-school program utilizes a non-contact version of Rugby at its core, a fully inclusive sport that crosses class, wealth, poverty, gender, and cultural divides.
Tickets to this event will be provided in exchange for a $50 Contribution in support of our chosen charity, Play Rugby USA. Print your receipt and bring it along on the day, this will act as your ticket.
