You can’t keep a good thing down as they say (and we don’t mean the food!) so we’re back again at Crab Cove, Alameda, for the fourth edition of the Great British Banger Barbecue. Haute cuisine courtesy of our Board Member Chefs Stuart Bagshaw and Jim Mayock (more Delia Smith than Gordon Ramsay if you ask me), who will cook up a storm for you (in the culinary sense of the word, hopefully!).
We’ve booked the location, the weather, the ambience, the food and drink - all we need is you to add this family BBQ event complete with sporting attractions. The Sack Race and Three-Legged Race are back, and this year’s innovative addition to the festivities will be a ’Welly Wanging’ contest, in honour of our wine sponsors Wellington’s Wine Bar in Sausalito (www.wellingtonswine.com - thank you Jeremy!). Wellies will be provided, for the flinging of - any propeller-driven imports will be subject to scrutiny by our judges, and have their wings clipped accordingly......
Join us for the British Bangers, British Beer and British Banter (at least the wine’s not British!). We’ll also have a prize draw for some Brit and non-Brit related goodies. So to coin far too many TV catch phrases in one sentence, I will say this only once: Come on down! And don’t forget - book early, just like that!
There is a $5 per car parking fee at the Park, payable at the gate, or free on-street parking nearby. Car-pooling and designated drivers encouraged! You can even get the ’O’ bus from the Transbay in San Francisco to within 1/4 mile of the venue (luxury!).
