We invite you to join us on May 7 for the release of the Bay Area Council’s new report Technology and Innovation in the UK: Why the United Kingdom is Europe’s Leading Center for Venture and Startup Investment. The report analyzes in detail how the UK continues to lead Europe in its production of startup and scaleup companies. It also looks at the roots of investment in the UK by Bay Area/Silicon Valley technology companies and the flow of technology investment and emerging companies from the UK to the Bay Area.
The program will be headlined by Hon. Baroness Poppy Gustafsson, the UK’s Minister of State for Investment, who prior to her service in government was on the founding team of Darktrace, a leading UK cybersecurity firm that was sold in 2021 for $5.3 billion. The Minister will be joined by a panel of experts who will share their views on the UK’s innovation ecosystem and their experience operating in both the Bay Area and the UK: Amanda Wolthuizen (Chief of Staff to the President of Imperial College) Alice Bentinck (Co-Founder & CEO, Entrepreneurs First) Stephen Ozoigbo (Head of Government Partnerships and Ecosystems, Arm) Vibhor Gupta (Co-Founder, Pangaea Data).
