In its original form, The Art of the Start was the de-facto standard for learning how to start a company. The new version is 64 percent longer and features Guy's latest insights and practical advice about social media, crowd funding, cloud computing, and many other topics.
To wit, business plans are no longer necessary; social media has replaced PR and advertising as the key method of promotion; crowd funding is a viable alternative to investors; and the cloud makes basic infrastructure affordable for almost any new venture.
Whether you're an aspiring entrepreneur, small-business owner, intrapreneur, or not-for-profit leader, there's an over-abundance of advice. The Art of the Start 2.0 solves that problem by distilling Guy's decades of experience as one of the most hardworking and irreverent people in business.
As Guy likes to say, Entrepreneur is a state of mind, not a job title. This book will help you make your crazy ideas stick, through an adventure that's more art than science the art of the start.

Step 2: Await first round of vetting
Selected startups will benefit from working with SAP solution architects, alliance perks (for example AWS credits), VC connections, SAP Startup Community and the SAP Startup Focus go-to-market team. Perks and opportunities are dependent on how you progress in the program. Live event pitching is limited to startups onsite. We will cover your event ticket cost, if you make the night show.
Step 3: Semi-Finals
Semi-finalists will be selected and scheduled times will be communicated on October 25. Ten applicants will be chosen to compete and pitch immediately prior to the evening event, 3-5pm, October 27, 2015 at SAP (3412 Hillview Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304).
Attend pre-event live pitching prior to Guy Kawasaki's ART of the START 2.0? debut seminar, and receive a free ticket to this exclusive event in Silicon Valley.
Step 4: Finals
The top five startups will be selected to give their 3-minute pitch (no slides) at the evening event, where some of the most influential Silicon Valley leaders will be in attendance.
If you are selected as one of the Top 5 startups for the ART of the START 2.0 event, you will have earned a fast-track admission to the SAP Startup Focus program, a $30,000 value, no equity and no cash.
Thanks for submitting your pitch! We will contact the 10 most promising startups solutions for live 3-minute pitching the day of the event from 3-5pm. The top 5 will then be invited to deliver their 3-minute pitch at the evening program. Get ready to pitch!
