The British American Business Council invites you to a panel discussion on future trends disrupting the world we work in.

While the world is changing faster than ever before, with expanding populations, turbulent markets and growth in new places, the real estate and construction industries have changed comparatively little. However, beneath this surface there are a number of trends and innovations emerging, which could pave the way for an exciting era of disruption.

PANELISTS:

	MODERATOR Henry Davies Senior Consultant, Turner & Townsend Henry is a Senior Consultant at Turner & Townsend, a world-leading construction management consultancy and is based in San Francisco. The firm helps organizations and public bodies successfully build and sustain major capital projects. Henry joined the company in 2018 and has worked in the US since 2014, moving over from London. Henry has been a management consultant for over 8 years working with an array of clients across healthcare, finance and technology. His practice specialities were change management, business transformation, operational excellence and scenario planning. At present, he’s currently working with some of the world’s leading tech clients on critical global infrastructure projects.
	Catherine House Co-Founder and Managing Director, SVN \| QAV Associates Catherine E. House, FRICS, CCIM is one of the Co-Founders and Managing Directors of SVN \| QAV & Associates, and is the Chair of SVN International?s National Healthcare Product Council. In 2010, San Francisco Business Times named her one of the 'Most Influential Women in Business in the Bay Area'. In 2017, she was named a Commercial Real Estate Power Woman by BISNOW & Allen Matkins. At SVN International, she consistently ranks in the top 10% of the firm?s 1,600+ commercial real estate brokers in 200+ offices. Catherine is a board member of the Northern California chapter of the BABC, and Past Chair and a Fellow of RICS NorCal. She has served as the President of CREW-SF (Commercial Real Estate Women San Francisco). Having worked in both England and the US, she is knowledgeable on the nuances and differences in commercial real estate transactions between the two countries.
	Alan Mackay Founder and CEO, Werqwise Alan is the Founder and CEO of Werqwise. Werqwise is the realization of Alan's desire to change the world by changing the way it works. He believes that success is about thinking unconventionally, bringing together the right people, treating them in the right way and ensuring they have their unique combination of physical, emotional, and support environments. Prior to founding Werqwise, Alan established and expanded three different businesses in the Real Estate, Shared Workplace and HR industries. He was the COO of Compass Offices and the Group CEO of Dryden Human Capital Group/Darwin Rhodes. His focus on profits and delivering investor/shareholder returns has led him to build high performing teams with a customer centric approach. Alan's experience is geographically and culturally diverse and ranges across multiple investments, including angel, private and venture. It is this combination of humanity, commercial acumen, and grit that makes Alan unique amongst his peers.
	Steve Burrows, CBE PE CEng FASCE FICE MIStructE LEEP-AP Honorary Fellow of Liverpool JMU Steve Burrows CBE is Principal Consultant at Cameron MacAllister where he advises AEC firms about the impact of change in the construction industry driven by technology and manufacturing. He was most recently an Executive at Katerra building and leading the engineering practice for the Silicon Valley technology company seeking to disrupt the construction industry . He is a a Professional Engineer born in UK and has worked in Europe, Asia and the US on projects such as the Birdsnest Stadium, the new Apple Campus and Stanford's Graduate School of Business He is known for always seeking to innovate to add value. Steve was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty the Queen in 2009 and received an Honorary Fellowships from his alma mater Liverpool John Moores University in 2018. He is adamant that this is the greatest time in history to be in the AEC industry and he presents TV shows such as Time Scanners, Engineering the Impossible and recently Dream Big a 3d IMAX movie narrated by Jeff Bridges as a way to broadcast this. Steve is passionate about the potential for AEC in a digital future.
	Megan White, Chief Sustainability Officer, Integral Group LEED AP + (BD+C, ID+C, O+M), LFA, WELL AP, Fitwell Ambassador As Chief Sustainability Officer, Megan is responsible for applying the same levels of ambition and performance from Integral’s project work to local and global initiatives such as the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment announced at the Global Climate Action Summit. Under Megan’s direction every Integral office will achieve zero operational carbon emissions by 2020. In 2018, Megan participated in the delivery of Integral’s first annual Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSER) Report setting out the firm’s vision, goals and performance targets across four areas of focus: environmental footprint, equity + diversity, health + well-being, education + impact. As a member of the executive leadership team, Megan leads CSER initiatives while also continuing her work with leading organizations to develop and implement transformative sustainability and wellness strategies. Megan bridges the intersection of people + planet with a focus on climate change as a health issue. She is dedicated to deep green solutions such as Zero Net Energy, Water, Waste, and Carbon, as well as reducing the negative impacts of the indoor environment on people via conscious design practices. Megan focuses on finding systemic solutions that help people to thrive – whether that is in the workplace, living accommodations, education spaces, healing centers, and beyond.
