On September 9, 2024, we officially launched 909Cyber with a clear mission: to deliver pragmatic, cost-effective cybersecurity solutions for SMBs and mid-market enterprises. One year later, as we celebrate our first anniversary, we’re proud to look back on a year of exponential growth, community building, and bold new initiatives.

In deciding to start a security consultancy our founder and CEO Den Jones knew we’d be entering a saturated market - isn't everyone a vCISO these days?  But thinking beyond the vCISO space knew there was an opportunity to help struggling companies.  Not as a solo practitioner but a firm with top security professionals.

A daunting task as Den also made the decision to fund the company himself.  That brings a certain level of pressure, but the reality is with the right advisors, mentors, team and friends the adventure is made a lot easier.

A special thanks goes to our Advisory CISO, Aaron Wurthman who Den met while at Adobe.  Aaron’s been a key figure in the 909 journey, Den’s right hand guy and the leader in our company that is the driving force behind our customer successes.
