At the forefront of innovation: interesting stories, interesting people

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2024 on 8 March - we are delighted to launch our new Women in Tech series, where we will hear interesting stories from inspirational people leading the charge at the forefront of innovation.

As a tech-focused law firm, we see the vast array of challenges our clients face as technology continues to evolve, and support those who are leading the disruption and harnessing the opportunities ahead. 

Our goal within Women in Tech powered by Bird & Bird is to celebrate and connect women and other underrepresented groups currently operating in the Tech & Comms space, and to encourage greater diversity within the sector by bringing a variety of voices together to share insights, and facilitate discussion on hot tech sector topics. 
 

Episode 1: Nima Tisdall, Nordic Makers

In episode 1, we hear from Nima Tisdall, a Forbes 30 under 30, and CEO & Operating Partner at Nordic Makers. Nordic Makers is a very active business angel network in the Nordics, investing in early stage startups from across the region and helping them to thrive. 

Interviewed by Danish Tech & Comms Partner Martin von Haller Grønbæk, Nima outlines her vision for developing an ecosystem in the Nordics that fosters a leading startup environment, and helps to put the next generation of Scandinavian unicorn companies firmly on the agenda.

Nima also considers the challenges within the start-up and fundraising field with a focus on biases in venture funding, particularly for minority groups. Additionally, Nima discusses environmental sustainability in the Nordics, a topic she is close to since she founded Blue Lobster, a platform which aims to make sustainable fishing the economically viable choice.
